Help celebrate Spirit Friday. This week in celebration of Valentine's Day wear red or pink.

Have you checked your students LinqConnect Lunch balance recently?
We have a lot of accounts experiencing negative balances due to cards expiring and auto-pay approvals needing to be renewed. Please take a moment this week to check if your child's account might need an update. Reminder calls will be made as well for some accounts.

Thanks to our bus drivers and bus aides that get our students to and from school safely. Take a minute to tell your bus driver thank you this week.

We've looking forward to the beginning of our school Storytelling Festival/Competition this week.
Storytelling is a great way for our kids to boost literacy skills and grow confidence. Each student can prepare a 3-5 minute story to tell to their class. The top two storytellers from each class will compete for a chance to tell their story to the whole school!
Each class will set their own times for their students to share stories, reach out to your child's teacher if you need to know more.
At the end of the week most classes will celebrate Valentine's Day. Please remember that we cannot deliver Valentine gift items to students at school. If you are going to be coming to help with a class party or activity, please make sure you have your background check done in advance.

It's time for our storytelling competition! Storytelling is a great way for our kids to boost literacy skills and grow confidence.
Each student can prepare a 3-5 minute story to tell to your class. Have your story ready to perform by February 11. The top two storytellers from each class will compete for a chance to tell their story to the whole school!

With the VERY limited circulation of pennies, we are unable to get them from the bank for change. With this change, we need to let you know that purchases will be handled in the following ways:
- eWallets and Credit Card sales will be handled with exact charges being made to those accounts.
- Cash purchases must be made with exact change or will be rounded to the next nickel (for instance .01 or .03 cent will be rounded to .05).
Any additional funds raised by the book fair due to this rounding up will be given to our Highland Elementary Library fund (yes you can also donate directly by choosing to round up on electronic purchases) for items for Mrs. Chadwick to use in our school library.
If you have any questions about this change you can call the office or reach out via email to Mrs. Murdock the Book Fair Chair.
Thank you for your understanding
